I already had 3 aluminum tripods, but wanted something both lighter for travel yet strong for on-location shooting. Carbon fiber was going

• Lighter than similar size aluminum tripods by 50%
• Very resiliant 8X layer carbon fiber
• Head easily holds a full size (Canon 7D+grip+70-200 f2.8 lens)
• Have used in desert and simply took apart and washed to clean out sand
• Have used as boom and while it bends, it holds the camera just fine

All in all whether you need a second tripod to compliment a heavier duty one, you want to buy your first carbon fiber tripod, or like me you wanted 2 tripods for backup for the price of one, the Opteka CFT80 is a good choice! You can get the CFT80 at Amazon!
